PFI International Ltd are proud to present this Luxury 18th Century Property in Tuscany, Villa Castel di Piero – Province of Siena, Italy.

A few minutes from the historic centre of Sarteano (Si), Luxury villa surface of about 540 sqm in size on three levels with a basement.

Immersed in Tuscany in the Sienese countryside, surrounded by fields and in the middle of a fauna restocking area. A few kilometres from the medieval village of Sarteano, in via Palazzo di Piero 1, stands Villa Forterocca.

Built in the eighteenth century on a strong rock base, the 2600 m2 of park is surrounded by centuries-old trees and olive trees, with a small private helipad and lovely swimming pool. The 700 m2 house was made the subject of important expansion works in 1823 making it a stately home. The view runs for tens of kilometres on the Valdichiana, into Montepulciano and onto the medieval village of Chianciano.

The tranquility of the Sienese countryside and the fortunate position make it a popular destination for travellers and guests. In 1998 the property underwent radical structural and functional restructuring works, with the transformation of the intended use into a luxury B&B included in the catalog of the “Hotel de Charme Europe” chain. As for the finish, the exterior outside of the house has original stone facades, while internally there are terracotta floors and wooden beamed ceilings.

The building which was completely renovated in 2002 has valuable architectural and structural characteristics, among which the large observation tower and connection in the building’s head. The panoramic terrace, the external finishes in exposed stone, the numerous brick arched openings and the large park with swimming pool enriched by centuries-old oaks.

The villa is surrounded by a fixed fence with hedges and long trees, the surrounding area is subject to landscape restrictions. The road that connects the villa with the provincial road 19 Sarteano – Chianciano is also considered of historical interest, connecting in the Middle Ages the church of Vittoria Piccolomini to the convent of Sant’Angelo.

Val d’Orcia is a large valley located in Tuscany, in the province of Siena and partly in that of Grosseto, north-east of Mount Amiata and on the border with Umbria. Crossed by the Orcia River, which gives it its name, it is considered one of the wonders of Italy.

In 2004 UNESCO declared it a World Heritage Site with the following motivation: “It is the exceptional testimony of the way in which the landscape was remodelled during the Renaissance to reflect the ideals of good governance and to create at the same time an aesthetically pleasing glance”.
